Flame evolution and radiation hazards of rectangular fires between two parallel walls

The manuscript investigated experimentally the influence of two parallel walls on flame geometric parameters and radiative heat flux distributions along wall from fires rectangular burners. Four sets burners with equal area different aspect ratios were used. burner ratios, separation distance between fire release rates systematically varied in tests. Measurements conducted for height evolution radiation hazards. results analysed to build change trends vertical radiant walls. A normalized equation incorporating was proposed. also revealed that fluxes a target do not monotonously. Comparison measurements calculated by some published empirical models relatively large discrepancies. view factor based formula hence proposed assuming shape as triangular prism probability contours larger ( n ≥ 3) found correlate well measurements.
